Lively and firm, this one offering a gentle fruity sweetness not too dissimilar to a rye, ironic as there is a light bourbon kick off the oak too. Wonderfully clipped and correct in delivery: firm at first very firm!
Just a sip is enough to fill your mouth with a multi-layered attack of malt and pepper plus a few sherry notes with the pot still arriving on the 2nd wave and refusing to budge...this is a marvellous whiskey Jim Murray
A new addition to the Redbreast range, a cask-strength whiskey with full rich flavours of toasted oak, dried fruits and toffee. Powerful, full of flavour with a long smooth finish. One for the whiskey-lover in your life. John Wilson, the Irish Times
Plenty of coffee, vanilla and spice on the nose and palate. It has a fruitiness allied to a sweet, honeyed, oaky texture. Aged in a mix of sherry and bourbon casks, but it is the sherry that comes through. Full of flavour and nicely rounded. The Irish Times
