Add Your Review

A joint project with Austrian producer Weninger, made from 45 year old Cabernet Franc vines. Intense and vibrant nose of violets. Meaty, inky with hints of liquorice and pine. This stunning wine displays fabulous concentration and a complex palate of liquorice, black cherry, and cassis that lingers delightfully on the palate.

Attila Gere's great-grandmother lived in Villány, and her husband was the local cooper. Along this line, the Gere family had quite a few members who were affiliated with wine production, starting from as many as seven generations back in time. Attila Gere first became interested in winemaking in 1978, through his father-in-law. Tasting his authentic home-made wines, Gere started to realize the great potential of the red wines of the Villány region. Winemaking is a family tradition on this line as well, what is more, today, the younger generation is also an integral part of the everyday life of the winery. The Gere family believes in the importance of viticulture and winemaking being passed on to sons and daughters, thereby re-creating the noble Hungarian tradition of the lasting family business.
