"The light, perfectly poised blackcurrant fruits, and pleasing dryness on the finish combine to produce a very enjoyable wine. This is textbook claret, and would make a great everyday house wine."
John Wilson, The Irish Times
"Decent weight of rich fruit with the tannins kept in check. Just about as good an introduction to red bordeaux as you could get" - EW
"A great vintage such as 2009 means even on the lower rungs of the quality ladder you get rich plummy fruit enlivened by a dash of spice" - MM

This vintage of our Claret is the 16th incarnation of a wine which has been a best seller since we revived the tradition of having our own house claret.. Each year reflects the style of the vintage used and not every vintage makes it to being a Mitchells Claret.
After exhaustive tasting of samples by the staff and only when a consensus is achieved, do we declare a new vintage to be deemed good enough to carry the Mitchells Claret label.
