Barao de Vilar Tawny Port

Add Your Review

The Baron's Tawny Port is a blend selected and matured in small oak vats called "pipes." Its aroma combines ripe fruit with dry fruit and cinnamon. Ready to drink; forms an excellent accompaniment for less-sweet desserts and it also can be enjoyed on its own lightly chilled as an aperitif.

Barão (Baron) de Vilar was established in 1828 when the royal title was conceded to the Kopke and van Zeller families. The two families played a significant role in the development of the Douro Valley and are considered to be the founding fathers of the Port market. In 1996, current Baron Fernando van Zeller decided to trademark Barão de Vilar and put this name on his Ports and other top quality wines. His desire is to celebrate and perpetuate the family's tradition as well as the ancestral vinification practices.

Today, Barão de Vilar is one of the top 5 Port houses and its wines are characterised by their style, finesse and accessibility. Medal winner at the Vinalies Internationales 2006 and the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2007, Barão de Vilar offers fantastic Ports!
