The beautiful 2009 Grand Veneur Chateauneuf-du-Pape Les Origines is a blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Mourvedre and 20% Syrah aged in small barrels. It offers notes of graphite, camphor, blackberries, crème de cassis, Provencal herbs and lavender. It is nearly as good as the brilliant 2007. Full-bodied and rich with nicely integrated tannins, acidity and wood, the 2009 will benefit from several years of bottle age and should evolve for 20 or more years. 92 95 Points, Robert Parker
