Nyetimber Classic Cuvée 2005

Nyetimber was established in 1986 on what was regarded as the perfect site on which to make sparkling wine in the UK, in the heart of West Sussex. Just over fourteen hectares of gentle, south-facing slopes of greensand soil were planted with the traditional Champagne varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Ever increasing demand for Nyetimber's sparkling wines meant that in 2005 the estate had to embark on a rapid expansion programme. In 2006, a further 60 hectares of vines were planted followed by an additional 30 hectares in May 2007. The estate is now owned by Eric Hereema.
