Barao de Vilar Late Bottled Vintage Port

Add Your Review

LBV (late bottled vintage) is intended to provide some of the experience of drinking a vintage port but without the need for lengthy bottle aging. This LBV is a blend of full, rich and fruity wines from a single year specially chosen for ageing. Dark red in colour with brown hues and a sweet smell of candied fruit. On the palate it has a creamy texture with hints of caramel and vanilla. It leaves a taste of sweet ripe fruit on the long finish. Serve with Gorgonzola, Roquefort, Stilton and old Cheddar.

Barão (Baron) de Vilar was established in 1828 when the royal title was conceded to the Kopke and van Zeller families. The two families played a significant role in the development of the Douro Valley and are considered to be the founding fathers of the Port market. In 1996, current Baron Fernando van Zeller decided to trademark Barão de Vilar and put this name on his Ports and other top quality wines. His desire is to celebrate and perpetuate the family's tradition as well as the ancestral vinification practices.

Today, Barão de Vilar is one of the top 5 Port houses and its wines are characterised by their style, finesse and accessibility. Medal winner at the Vinalies Internationales 2006 and the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2007, Barão de Vilar offers fantastic Ports!
