Stag's Leap "Fay" Cabernet Sauvignon

Add Your Review

‘Fay’ Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits an intense perfume of dark red fruit lavender violets and a hint of butterscotch. Concentrated flavours of lush red plum black cherries liquorice and subtle forest floor are accented by sweet oak and a ribbon of vanilla. It is beautifully balanced with a soft entry, expansive fruit flavours and a long flavourful finish. With its mouth-watering aromas luscious flavours and supple texture the 2005 ‘Fay’ would pair beautifully with seared duck.

Founded in 1970 by the Warren Winiarski family, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars is considered a Napa Valley first growth producing world-renowned Cabernet Sauvignon from its historic vineyards. The winery first brought international recognition to California winemaking and the Napa Valley when its 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon won the now famous 1976 Paris Tasting, besting some of the most celebrated wines of Bordeaux. Their three estate-grown wines – ‘Fay’, ‘Cask 23’ and ‘S.L.V.’ - are among the most highly regarded and collected Cabernet Sauvignons worldwide. The wines are fashioned to express classic elegance, structure and ageability. It’s a style that has become known as "an iron fist in a velvet glove."
